Academic and extracurricular activities complement each other and develop a well rounded, skilled and healthier student. Extracurricular activities help students learn new skills and integrating these skills into their everyday school lives. They learn time management, critical thinking, teamwork and social skills. It fosters a sense of commitment, responsibility and increases their self- esteem. Eventually they become better organized in the classroom. Thus keeping in view the benefits of such activities, the school management keeps organizing such activities. Following is a brief account of the events held in school.
Flower arrangement compition was held in school on May 2, 2014. Wania Hamza Class VI-A , Shiza Asim Class VIII-B and Laiba Khan Class VIII-B got 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Science quiz held between Jinnah House, Abbas House, Humaira House and Bano House. Abbas House represented by Iman Zahid Class VI-A , Fatima Zahid Class VII-C and Zainab Kashif Class VIII-A won the competition.
It included variety of artwork such as painting, painted pots and vases, handmade cushions cards, paper flowers, dough flowers and much more. It was highly appreciated by parents as well.
Classes VI to X and Higher Secondary classes took part in the competition. In solo performance round the 1st , 2nd and 3rd positions went to Maryam Rashid Class Viii-b, Asa Khawaja Class X and Isha Khan Class VII-C respectively. The group performance round was won by Aqsa Khawaja, Maryam Rashid, Mamoona Muhammad and Dhanak Imtiaz.
Bano House represented by Arisha Sultan Class VI-A, Isha Sajid Class VII-B and Ayesha Zaheer Class VIII-A won the contest.
Mark Sheets and Kangroo Logo printed shirts were awarded to Fatima Nasir Class VI-A, Mahnoor Fatima Class VI-B, Samreen Qaiser Class VI-C, Iqra Fayyaz Class VI-C , Ayesha Ejaz Class VI-B, Dhanak Imtiaz Class VI-B, Saman Shameen Class VII-C and Amina Shafique Class VIII-B.
The guest of honor Mrs. Mansoor Jahan Afzal graced the occasion with her presence. The sports event was declared open after the March Past.
It was followed by a colorful Band Display and a variety of races such as Frog Race, Rope Race, Sack Race, show was immensely enjoyed by the students and the guests alike. The students put up marvelous Bitcher on the head Race, Three legged Race and most important Relay Race. The Tinkling- Tingling Tambourine tableaus also. The Guest of Honor gave away prizes to the winners of events. The prize distribution ceremony was followed by the chief guest address to the sports ceremony in which she shared her past memories with the students.
Cambridge Madrasat-Ul-Banat Basket Ball Team, represented by Hamdah Fatima , Saman Shameen , Laiba aMumtaz, Laiba Khalid, Laiba Nadeem, Zunash Sattar, Fatima Khan and Nihan Zaidi under the supervision of Team Coach Sir Tariq tooka part in the championshipand won 3rd position. Saif Sports Saga awarded shield and certificates to the students.
A squash was held among classes VI to VIII. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were won by Saba Nadeem Class VIII-A, Faryal Tawheed Class VI-C and Farwa Sagheer Class VIII-A respectively.
Hockey match competition was held on January 25, 2015. The competition was won by the Green Team.
The students of IX Class organized a wonderfull and memorable farewell party in the honor of their seniors, the going away Class X. the host class presented farewell songs , funny skits, Sufi Dance and Ghost dance and entertain them a lot.
A graceful ceremony was held to commemorate the unparalleled services by the founder of this prestigious institution, Molana Abdul Haq Abbas in the field of education. An old student of Madarsat-Ul-Banat Madam Abida Zafar graced the occasion. She took admission in this great institute Madarat-ul-banat in 1948. She was one of the very brilliant and hardworking students. She regularly took part in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. She was one of those luckiest students who complete their schooling under the kind guidance of Aqa Ji Abdul Haq Abbas. She was the gold medalist of Punjab University in Islamic studies. She also worked in radio Pakistan in Islamic programs for some period. The guest of honor while addressing the students, pay great tribute to Aqa Ji Abdul Haq Abbas.
Qirrat and Naat competition was held among the students of junior and senior section. The speech delivered by the guest of honor lighted the function. At the end of the ceremony results of the Naat and Qirrat were announced. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions went to Amna Giyas, Noor Fatima and Kashaf Zubair respectively. The junior 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were won by Sana Shameen, Maham and Wania respectively. The winners were awarded certificates.
That was followed by a roaring applause when 14 students who had outdone in (IKEC) International Kangroo English Contest were awarded Gold Medals. The names of gold medals winners are Amna Ijaz, Miral Tawheed, Areeba Arshad, Aiza Hamid, Fatima Nasir, Maryam Nasir, Mona Muhammad, Hibba-tulla Hani, Adeen Naveed, Amna Fahim, Aqsa Azeem anf Fakiha Asif.
