REOPENING SCHOOL AFTER COVID-19

Year 2020 started with cold and pleasant weather after long winter, students returned school. Everything was going normal, until the Pandemic COVID-19 broke out. Nobody imagined that this virus would bring the world to halt. In March, the cases in Pakistan rose to highest peak. For the safety of students, universities, colleges and schools were closed across the country. A complete lockdown was observed in whole country. Nobody was sure when this Pandemic was going to end. But life had to start again, activities had to start again. So, government lifted lockdown and with strict SOP's allowed activities to start. The objective was to bring life back on track, with caution and care.

Educational activities have started in three phases under strict directive of Punjab government:

1. Colleges and 9^th , 10^th classes on 15^th September 2020

2. Classes from 6 to 8 on 23^rd September 2020

3. Pre-nursery to 5 on 30^th October 2020

Unlike other schools and colleges in Lahore, Cambridge Madrasa-tul-Banat also opened its doors for continuing educational activities. Keeping in mind the directives of Punjab government.

a) MEASURES TAKEN BEFORE REOPENING SCHOOL:

Before re-opening of school, management made sure to make school and college, safe for students. They made every possible pre-cautions for the safety and well-being of students, which included:

1. Cleaning of floors in school both junior and senior blocks
2. Cleaning of classrooms
3. Dis-infecting whole school
4. Placing sanitizers outside every classroom
5. Informative charts were mounted on display boards for students

b) TEXT MESSAGE TO PARENTS FOR THEIR GUIDANCE:

Text message was sent to parents, so as to guide them about what measures to be taken before sending their children to school. They were as follows:

1. Students must come with their face masks
2. They must bring lunch from home, as canteen shall remain closed till further notice
3. Parents must come few minutes early, so that departure would manage easily, without crowding

c) SOP's OBSERVATION AT ENTRANCE:

Following measures were implemented at the entry point of school:

1. Students masks will be checked, if any student is without mask, she shall be provided it on the 2. entry point.
2. Temperature will be checked on gate
3. Compulsory hand sanitizing at entry point
4. For to maintain social distancing, floor will be marked.

d) SOP's OBSERVATION IN CLASSES:

Following measures were made for safety of students, within classrooms:

1. Special seating arrangements were made, so as to maintain social distancing
2. Sanitizers were placed outside each and every class
3. Students and teachers must wear face mask all the time in classroom
4. Students must not be left un-attentive
5. At home-time, it was made sure that students would leave class in orderly manner.

Sooner or later, by the will of Allah, things will get back to normal. The need of hour is to follow SOP's, lead healthy lifestyle and also most importantly follow Sunnah, as it is most authentic SOP, if followed properly. Stay safe.
